Kaveh Madani is an Iranian scientist and environmental activist. He was the Deputy Head of Iran's Department of Environment since September 2017 but he resigned only after 7 months in his job while out of country. He also serves as the Vice President of the United Nations Environmental Assembly.
He is known internationally for his work on integrating game theory and decision analysis into water resources management models. He has played a major role in raising public awareness about water and environmental problems in Iran in recent years.
Madani is a Reader of Systems Analysis and Policy at the Centre for Environmental Policy of Imperial College London. His research and major outreach activities have influenced water policy in Iran.
